what is custom digital printingWhat is Digital Printing?

Digital printing broadly refers to a print method that is first generated as a digital image before being printed directly onto objects like stationery, labels, or stickers. This technique is not dissimilar to your home or office inkjet printer, just on a much larger and higher quality scale. A slightly more expensive, hi-tech method of digital printing called “variable data printing” allows the print on your products to be altered and unique for each item you print (such as adding people’s names to mugs).

How Does Digital Printing Work?

While some forms of digital print can be directly applied (like, say, digital wrap printing on drinkware), you’ll find most of our promotional products are branded using stickers or labels that have been digitally printed with your unique design. These customised stickers and labels are then directly applied to corporate gifts by hand. Unlike other branding methods, digital printing uses CMYK colours (as opposed to Pantone Colours).

Why Choose Digital Printing?

There are many advantages to using digital print as a branding option including;

  • We can print in full-colour using digital printing
  • There’s no individual colour setup cost, just one per design/position.
  • We do not need to create a screen or plate for decoration, which means faster turnaround times.
  • Print is of the highest quality and does not chip off easily over time

There are only a few disadvantages to the process, which are minimal;

  • This print method is restricted to use on particular products.
  • Digital printing cannot be used on curved surfaces.
